Little Carpathian Region is worth a visit

The restaurant is located in the village of Slovenský Grob in the Little Carpathians of Slovakia. So why is the region worth visiting? There are several reasons.

The Little Carpathians are best known for the making and bottling high-quality, award-winning wines that are most of all fantastic to drink. Each wine-growing town has its own characteristic variety: white wines such as Grüner Silvaner in Limbach, Fetească Albă in Modra, and Welschriesling in Pezinok, or red varieties such as Blaufränkisch in Rača and Blauer Portugieser in Orešany.

Wine cellars along the Little Carpathian Wine Route open their doors each year for visits and tastings after the Oberačková wine festivals in September to give the general public a glimpse behind the scenes of how different vine varieties are cultivated and the wine from them is produced.

Apart from wine, there are also wonderful spots for excursions throughout the area. A few selected examples are the Little Carpathians Museum in Pezinok, not far from Slovenský Grob, that exhibits examples of viticulture and viniculture and Pezinok Castle with its beautiful castle park. You can visit the nature trail at Svätý Jur, which takes you to a lookout tower with fabulous views of the surrounding area. In Bernolákovo, there is a smaller-distance trail to the ruins of Čeklís Castle and, of course, there is much, much more.

After a hike or day excursion, you are cordially invited to visit Husacina u Jakuba and enjoy a traditional goose or duck feast at our family restaurant along with any of the local wines earlier mentioned. Don’t pass up the chance to enjoy the delectable taste of roast goose or duck served with homemade potato pancakes, stewed red cabbage and delicious foie gras that just melts on your tongue.
